MITCHELL – The Mitchell Opera House released an updated schedule for the remainder of 2021 and they are ready for customers to attend.
The past couple of shows have had low attendance, but Gary Rayhill with Hoosier Uplands and the Mitchell Opera House is anticipating for those numbers to increase.
“We’re hoping to have people come back again, with the last free show bringing in 35 attendees, we’re just hoping people will come back. But we know it is going to be slow,” said Rayhill.
For some, going out to a public venue may be a cause for concern, but the Opera House is still following guidelines presented by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
“We have signs on the door that say ‘masks are recommended’ in the building. We aren’t enforcing customers to wear masks, but still ask those in the building to socially distance from one another during the shows,” Rayhill said. “We have every other row blocked off to allow enough space for people who attend, and we have a basket by the doors with masks that we are providing.”
These upcoming shows will go on as scheduled while following CDC guidelines while the county remains in good health.
“If the county goes back to red, we will have to cancel some shows. There is no need to put anyone at risk, so that would be the only reason for cancellation,” Rayhill said.
The upcoming schedule includes:
- Lloyd Wood- Country & Comedy on October 30th at 6:00 p.m. this is a free event
- Good Rockin’ Tonight- 50’s Music on November 13th at 7:00 p.m. for $18
- The Live Creek Band with a Variety of music on November 20th at 7:00 p.m. for $15
- Sounds of Summer- Beach Boys Tribute Christmas Show on December 11th at 7:00 p.m. for $22
- Sweet Tea Trio- Country Christmas Show on December 18th at 7:00 p.m. for $22
“We’re hoping that everybody will come out and enjoy some old fashioned entertainment, while following CDC guidelines,” said Rayhill.
