DUBOIS CO. – Dubois County Sheriff’s Office Tom Kleinhelter is warning residents in reference to a German American Bankcard scam.
Dispatch says they have taken multiple complaints of individuals receiving calls or text messages saying their bank card has been blocked and then requesting the person to call a phone number listed in the text to settle the issue.
Investigators contacted German American Bank and this has been determined to be a scam.
Police warn residents to NOT call the phone number and not to provide any information to the callers.
