INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana Region of the American Red Cross’s Services to the Armed Forces has partnered with Duke Realty across seven states to package and send health and comfort kits to Indiana National Guard members serving around the world.
“Our service members are on the frontlines protecting our nation, and we want to ensure their needs are met,” said Jeff Imel, director of Services to the Armed Forces with the American Red Cross – Indiana Region. “Duke Realty answered the call to serve our service members, and we are grateful for their humanitarian spirit and partnership.”
Guard members will receive toiletries, playing cards, and snacks in their packages. Nearly 100 Duke Realty associates put in approximately 375 hours across Indiana, Pennsylvania, California, New Jersey, Florida, Texas, and Illinois to pack and send more than 2,200 care packages.
“At Duke Realty, we show our support for our communities through personal volunteer efforts to organizations that rely on the generosity of others,” said Jenny Bean, Duke Realty chief human resources officer. “We are grateful to have associates who participate in activities that showcase our culture of giving back. Our associates across the U.S. assembled 53,000 units resulting in 2,220 individual kits for those proudly and bravely serving our country – the service men and women of the National Guard.”
