John M. Stephenson, 78, of Bloomington, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on October 27, 2021.
He was born on June 29, 1943, in Crothersville, to Carl and Faye (Batman) Stephenson. He married Karen Speer on December 25, 1963, and she survives. John was a 1961 graduate of Tunnelton High School. He was retired and of the Christian faith.
John was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather and will be missed greatly.
Survivors include his wife, Karen; daughter, Teri (Bob) Awbrey; grandchildren, Natasha (fiancé Connor Peacock) and Matthew (Lexi) Awbrey; sisters, Sue Hamilton and Linda King; and one brother, Max (Sue) Stephenson.
Preceding John in death were his parents; and half-brother, Dale Ingle.
Cremation was chosen and there will be no public services. A private burial will take place at a later date.
Ferguson-Lee Chapel of Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes in Bedford has been entrusted
with John’s care.
