BLOOMINGTON — Monroe County has extended its mask mandate.
The Monroe County Health Department says the county commissioner decided to continue to require masks to be worn when in indoor public spaces. The mandate has been in place since August 4th and was set to expire on October 31.
The commissioners decided to keep the mask mandate in place until the county’s COVID-19 rate is fewer than 50 weekly cases per 100,000 people. That would put the county in the blue category on the Indiana Department of Health Coronavirus Map. The county’s rate is currently in the yellow category on the map.
