Sue Carol Burton, 90, of Bedford, passed away at 5:47 p.m. on Saturday, October 30, 2021, at Stonebridge Health Campus.
Born July 4, 1931, in Bedford, she was the daughter of Francis “Pete” Reichman and Nova (Evans) Reichman Allen. She married David E. Burton on April 11, 1952, and he preceded her in death on January 20, 1990. She had been a seamstress at M. Fine and Sons and was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, David E. Burton, and wife, Lisa; a daughter, Carol Hobbs, and husband, Owen; six grandchildren, Bradley Joe Parrott, Brian David Parrott and wife, Elizabeth, Joshua David Burton, and wife, Amanda, Angela Marie (Burton) Brewer and husband, Travis, Jacob Frazier Hobbs, and Evan Andrew Hobbs; three great-grandchildren, Cora Violet Parrott, Ruby Grace Parrott, and Azriel N. Brewer; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three sisters, Delores Hornocker, Mary Brooking, and Nancy East.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 4th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Lee Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the Mitchell Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service on Thursday, at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
The family asks that friends consider memorial contributions be made in Sue’s memory to the First Baptist Church.
