Charlotte Marie Melvin, 72 of Bedford, passed away October 28, 2021, at Mitchell Manor.
She was born on August 14, 1949, to Billy Ray and Alice Marie Massey Gregory. She married Ralph Melvin on June 6, 1996, and he survives.
Charlotte grew up in Tennessee and Indianapolis, graduating high school in Indianapolis. She was a cook, working at the Padanaram Valley and different sororities.
Surviving to cherish Charlotte’s memory are her husband, Ralph; her children, Shawn Vincz, Camalot Wright, Godson Wright, Nina Suchanek, and Viking Wright; stepdaughter, Shalana Melvin; her mother, Alice Gregory; 16 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.
Charlotte is preceded in death by her father, Billy Ray Gregory.
Friends may gather with Charlotte’s family from 12:00 pm until service time at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 6, 2021, at Padanaram. Burial will follow at Holy Ground Cemetery.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ferguson-Lee Chapel of Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes in Bedford.
Memorials may be given in Charlotte’s memory to the American Diabetes Association.
