INDIANAPOLIS – Lt. Gov. Suzanne Crouch and Secretary and CEO of the Indiana Destination Development Corporation (IDDC) Elaine Bedel announced David Holt as Chief Operating Officer and Chief of Staff.
“David comes to IDDC with a resume that includes working in and around government, while also having both private and not-for-profit sector experience,” said Crouch. “We are excited to have his knowledge and experience that will help continue the growth of this important agency.”
Holt joined IDDC after serving as senior vice president for development and community affairs for South Bend-based development company, Holladay Properties. He also helped start the not-for-profit “think tank” Conexus Indiana as vice president of operations and business development and was instrumental in developing, recruiting, and forming the Conexus Indiana Logistics Council (CILC), a forum of prominent logistics executives throughout Indiana.
Holt formerly served as a vice president of federal relations, education, and health care policy for the Indiana Chamber of Commerce, acting as an integral part of that organization’s government relations team at the federal and state levels. His professional career also included service in the administration of President George W. Bush as Chief of Staff to the Office of Vocational and Adult Education at the U.S. Department of Education and served as a senior legislative aide on Capitol Hill to U.S. Representative David McIntosh (R-Muncie).
“We are thrilled to have David join the IDDC,” said Bedel. “We will benefit from his proven track record of success and his past experience has prepared him for this role.”
Holt will report to Secretary and CEO Bedel and oversee all staff and strategic initiatives in the department.
