MITCHELL – Two people were arrested on meth charges after Mitchell Police officers were called to the 200 block of South 5th Street Thursday morning to locate a man who was involved in a domestic dispute. When the police arrived a female answered the door but he male they were looking for was not there.
While looking for their suspect, officers found 31-year-old Cody Freeman and 22-year-old Shaila Arnold behind the furnace in the basement.
Police say Freeman was impaired and Arnold was extremely nervous.
Both told officers they heard that the “cops” were coming and decided to hide in the basement. In a backpack, police found a baggie containing 3.45 grams of crystal meth and a digital scale.
Both Freeman and Arnold were arrested on a charge of possession of meth.
