Mary Deckard, 89, of Springville, died on Friday, November 12, 2021, at her residence. Born July 17, 1932, in Lawrence County, she was the daughter of Robert and Dessie (Covey) McKee.
She married Charles Melvin Cobb and he preceded her in death. Mary then married Chauncey Deckard, and he also preceded her in death.
She retired as in inspector for Western Electric and worked as a CNA for Older Americans Healthcare. She was a graduate of Smithville High School and attended Dive Christian Church for many years.
Mary enjoyed watching IU football and basketball, as well as watching the Indianapolis Colts. She loved shopping at St. Vincent de Paul.
Survivors include two daughters, Vicky A. Bryant and her husband, Mark, Debbie Richardson and her husband Keith; grandchildren, Cheryl Underwood and husband Caleb, Shawn Bryant and wife Amy, Steven Bryant and wife Glory, Bill Kerr and wife Kelly, Sue Love and husband Eric, Mary Dee Hudson and husband Andy, Charity New, Jessica Ratts and husband Travis; nineteen great grandchildren, and several great- great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, and a brother, Delmar Eugene McKee.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 pm on Tuesday, November 16, 2021, in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Joe McAdams officiating. Visitation will be from 12 noon until the hour of service on Tuesday, at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
