BLOOMINGTON – Chris Finley, current principal at Childs Elementary will become the principal of Tri-North Middle School starting November 29, 2021.
Finley is in his 12th year at Childs and 23rd year overall within Monroe County Community School Corporation.
Previously, Finley was the principal at Marlin Elementary for five years and an assistant principal at Clear Creek Elementary. He also taught at Clear Creek, Templeton, and Unionville Elementary Schools.
He earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Indiana University Bloomington and is currently pursuing his doctorate at Indiana University in Educational Leadership.
“I’ve been married for 26 years and my superstar, super supportive wife is a professor at IU,” said Finley. “My two daughters are both in college and attended MCCSC schools K-12. I’m looking forward to serving Tri-North Middle School, and I’m thankful for this opportunity. Tri-North now has a world-class facility, and with the great teachers they have in place, my goal is to continue to find ways to support them in their work and make a great school even better. Great students, families, and teachers are a winning combination and I’m looking forward to working with the Tri-North community to help their students learn and grow in a safe, comfortable, and engaging environment. Coming in mid-year, I will hit the ground running.”
