MARTINSVILLE – The new week begins with a new traffic pattern in place in Morgan County.
State Road 37 northbound traffic was shifted across the center median late last week to restore divided traffic north of the Egbert Road overpass. S.R. 37 remains two lanes (one in each direction) with a reduced speed limit.
With new entrance and exit ramps open, Henderson Ford Road should yield to traffic in the roundabouts.
The S.R. 37 intersection at Ennis Road is now closed permanently. Click here to see a map of local access routes.
Get ready for more traffic changes: Ohio Street traffic is expected to shift into its new lane configuration this week for the new I-69. Expect S.R. 252/Hospital Drive traffic to shift next week near I-69.
I-69 is on track to open to traffic in Martinsville before the end of the year. Crews are working around the clock as weather permits, and drivers should expect construction traffic on nearby roads.
County Road 144 traffic should watch for a new intersection east of S.R. 37. A frontage road is now open north of C.R. 144, connecting with Travis Road and Stones Crossing Road, two local roads that no longer have direct access to S.R. 37.
Paving crews recently resurfaced Jay Dee Lane and Huggin Hollow Road where new water lines were installed. This week, crews are paving a new road connection and driveway for Autobahn Service Center where Olive Branch Road access to S.R. 37 was closed.

Electrical work will impact I-465 traffic at night this week. Duke Power crews will be stopping traffic for up to 20 minutes at a time to remove overhead lines between Harding Street and Bluff Road. The right lane of I-465 is expected to close eastbound on Monday night and westbound on Tuesday night to install overhead lighting near Keystone Avenue.
The new Keystone Avenue bridge over I-465 is nearing completion and is on track to open before the end of the year. Just to the north, Fox Harbour Drive access will be rebuilt in phases. Fox Club Apartments residents should yield to traffic entering from Keystone Avenue.
Expect a nighttime lane closure this week for paving along S.R. 37 southbound between Epler Avenue and Southport Road. One night of a northbound S.R. 37 lane closure is also expected in this area.
The new connector road west of S.R. 37 from Wicker Road to Glenns Valley Lane is expected to open later this week. The S.R. 37 intersection near Glenns Valley Church will close permanently after the new road opens. Click here to view a map of this and other new access roads in the area.
The actual starting date and duration for work and any closures may be adjusted if inclement weather or other unforeseen activities occur.
