Glenda Sue Hearth, 72, of Bedford and formerly of Springville, went home to be with the Lord at 5:45 am on Thursday, December 9, 2021.
Born January 9, 1949, in Bedford, she was the daughter of Lavern and Pauline (Thompson) Coursey. She was a graduate of the Oolitic High School with the class of 1967. She married Ralph Nelson Hearth on March
20, 1969, and he preceded her in death. She retired from NWSC Crane after 38 years of service and worked at SICIL for 6 years. She volunteered at Stonebridge Health Campus for 7 years where she enjoyed spending time with the elderly, making them feel they were the most important people on earth. She was a member of the Oak Grove Pentecostal Church where she loved all her Christian family. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family.
Sue is survived by her mother, Pauline Coursey, of Springville; three sons, Bryon Hearth, and wife, Debbie, and Rick Hearth, and wife, Heather, all of Bedford, and Bill Hearth and wife, Liese, of Bolingbrook, IL; four grandchildren, Jeremy Hearth and wife, Lorene, of Springville, Kristen (Hearth) Terry and husband, Zach, of Bedford, Kelsi Hearth, of Bloomington, and Jesse Hearth, of Bedford; four great-grandchildren, Aiden, Jon, Easton, and Annadean Hearth, all of Springville and one great-granddaughter, Emerson Grace Terry, due in March 2022; a sister, Carol Strunk, of FL; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, her husband, two brothers, Jack and Mike Coursey; her grandparents, Rathmiel and Vangie Thompson and Emery and Stella Coursey; a grandson, Jason Hearth; a great-granddaughter, Kaitlynn Ann-Marie Hearth.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 14th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Larry Hawkins and Jesse Hearth officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery with dinner being served, immediately after, at the church. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, December 13th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
The family asks that friends consider memorial contributions be made in Sue’s memory to Lawrence County Cancer Patient Services.
