John Michael (Mike) Thrasher, 96, of Harrodsburg, passed away at 3:11 p.m. on Sunday, January 9, 2022, at his residence.
Born July 26, 1925, in Harrodsburg, he was the son of Rex Fred and Fern (Doub) Thrasher. He married Norma Hitchcock and she preceded him in death. He worked in the Ernie Pyle Hall as a Linotype Setter for the Indiana Daily Student paper and owned a stamp business for over forty years collecting and selling rare stamps. He loved his family farm west of Harrodsburg. He enjoyed reading about and visiting historical sites with his family and doing crossword puzzles.
Survivors include a daughter, Beth Ponce and husband, Ernesto, of Harrodsburg; seven grandchildren, Aaron, Jordan, Christian, Emmanuel, Isaiah and Samuel Ponce, and Hannah Ponce Parks and nine great-grandchildren, Jacob, Elias, Christian, Maya, Gabriela, Adrian, and Eliana Ponce and Ava and Kylo Parks.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.
