BEDFORD – Amy Redman is seeking to represent District 1 on the Lawrence County Council.
Amy is a wife and mother, raising her family in rural Lawrence County alongside her husband Patrick. She’s dedicated her livelihood to educating our youth, focusing on career and technical education. After graduating from Mitchell High School, she earned a Bachelor’s degree at Purdue University in Family & Consumer Sciences Education.
She was fortunate to be hired by Mitchell Community Schools following graduation, where she spent eleven years educating students at Mitchell High School. Her love for utilizing technology in the classroom led to a job with Five Star Technology Solutions as an instructional technology coach, teaching teachers how to best use technology to advance educational practices. Earning a Master’s degree in Career and Technical Education from Ball State University opened the door to her current role as the director of the North Lawrence Career Center. These roles emphasize the importance of commitment, communication, and consistency.
Growing up around livestock and continuing to raise cattle taught Amy the value of a dollar and how to manage the resources available to her. She’s worked alongside people with different backgrounds, values, and beliefs in various volunteer roles with several different community organizations.
“This has prepared me to listen to the people of Lawrence County and lead with sound judgment. I understand the need for informed decision-makers and sincere political leaders,” said Amy.
Workforce development and community engagement are two of her passions.
“As our youth develop their talents and prepare to join our workforce, I want to ensure our community remains an attractive place to call home. With solid fiscal management and fresh conservative ideals, we will continue to build our way to a brighter future,” added Amy.
