BEDFORD – The Bedford Boat and Sportsman Club Women’s Auxiliary Auction will be held on Saturday, February 5th at 1:00 p.m. located at 3916 Pumphouse Road in Bedford with all of the proceeds going towards local non-profit organizations.
Rita East, one of the Directors for the Women’s Auxiliary, shared the needs of the group ahead of the event to help out those who need it most.
“We do this event every year to help out with some of the non-profit groups in our area as well as fund our Christmas shopping event we hold for the families in need,” said East. “This is our biggest fundraiser of the year, and it all goes back to the community.”
The group is in need of items such as baked goods, canned goods, appetizers, and gift cards. They are also in need of jackets, however, they are not accepting other clothing articles at this time.
“We take everything except used clothes such as new shoes, coats, and even purses. There will be baked goods for sale at the auction as well including pies, cookies, and cakes,” East said.
Donations will be accepted until the day of the event on February 5th.
The auction is open to the public and must be 21 years of age to enter as the auction will be held in the bar area, but children will be allowed to remain upstairs with adult supervision and play with the games, watch tv or sing karaoke until the auction ends.
The Bedford Boat Club hosts fundraisers throughout the year to help support the community and several causes. The Bedford Boat Club has donated $1,000 to several local organizations in the past.
