Tim L. Tolbert, of Mitchell, passed away peacefully Sunday, January 16, 2022, at I. U. Hospice House in Bloomington.
He was born November 5, 1958, in Bedford to Jerry L. Tolbert and Carolyn Sue “Roberts” Tolbert. He married Vickie “Dusty” Rout on October 5, 1979, and she survives.
Tim was a 1976 graduate of Mitchell High School. He had worked for Jay-C Foods for 11 years and retired from the U. S. Postal Service after 25 years of service, primarily at Orleans. He was a member of Fishing Creek Christian Church where he had served as a Sunday School teacher, deacon, and elder. He was an advisory board member for Bono Township. Tim enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing. He was also a hunter and trapper in his younger years, and he loved to play pool with his grandsons and his devoted best friend since high school, Frank Hodges.
Survivors included his wife, Dusty; mother, Sue Tolbert; son, Sam (Katie) Tolbert; grandsons, Wyatt Campbell and Wil Tolbert; best friend, Frank Hodges; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Funeral services will be Friday, January 21, 2022, at Fishing Creek Christian Church, 752 Bono Road, Mitchell, at 1 p.m., with Pastor Kyle Stewart officiating. Visitation will also be Friday at the church, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. The burial will be in Talbott Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Sam Tolbert, Wyatt Campbell, Wil Tolbert, Luke Emberton, Adam Norman, and Tyler Thompson. Honorary pallbearers are Frank Hodges, Jerry Scoggan, Greg Edwards, Randy Hensley, Randy King, and Jon Malott.
Memorial contributions may be made in Tim’s memory to Talbott Cemetery.
Services for Tim have been entrusted to the Ferguson-Lee Chapel of Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes in Bedford.
