In other matters:

The Lawrence County Commissioners extended the COVID policy for county employees due to the increased number of cases in the county. No changes were made to the policy other than that testing must be completed by a qualified health professional.

Recorder Myron Rainey requested permission for US Imaging to be in the courthouse after hours to digitally format deeds. That request was approved.

Lawrence County Prosecutor Sam Arp to approve two contracts for child support services. Those contracts were approved.

Lawrence County Highway Superintendent David Holmes attended his last meeting Tuesday. His last day is Jan. 28. Holmes has served the county as highway superintendent since 2009. 

Holmes reported highway crews are improving ditches along county roadways, patching roads, and cutting brush.

Bids will be let in July to repair Bridge 150 on Mill Creek Road.

The commissioners also approved a contract with CLR Construction of $592,181 for rehab work on East Oolitic Road

Emergency Management Director Valarie Luchauer reported 26 people participated in a hazard mitigation class.

Sheriff Mike Branham reported there were 147 inmates in the jail Tuesday morning, of those 118 were males, 29 were females, one Level 6 felon and 16 were Department of Correction holds.

The kitchen at the jail is needing of improvements. Sheriff Branham is currently seeking bids for new stoves a steam table, and other equipment.
