BEDFORD – The Boys & Girls Club of Lawrence County will be hosting a COVID-19 Consultation and Vaccination event on Saturday, February 12th from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the Limestone Unit on 19th Street.
This free consultation is in partnership with IU Health South Central Region Riley Physicians and IU Health South Central Region Community Health to provide answers to questions about the vaccine as well as offer the shot to those who want it.
Frank Decker, Chief Professional with the Boys & Girls Club of Lawrence County, is excited to offer this opportunity to the community, and hopes it will bring answers to questions community members might have.
Many families in the region utilize the Boys & Girls Club of Lawrence County as a way to know their child is being taken care of after school, while they are at work. Most times, many children will be at the club until they close at 6:00 p.m. as that is when the parents are off of work.
Decker believes providing this event on the weekend would allow those who feel they don’t have enough time to seek out answers to their questions or are still at work after physicians’ offices are closed to get the answers from a professional.
Coming to this consultation does not require any individual to get the vaccine. This event will be used as a means to ask any questions about the vaccine and receive professional guidance and answers, though the Pfizer vaccine will be available for those who wish to get it during the event.
Having the ability to speak directly to a physician that will be able to answer any question you may have is what Decker feels is the best part of offering this to the community.
There is no need to make a reservation for the event as all walk-ins are welcome. The Pfizer vaccine will be available to adults and children who are cleared to receive the vaccine during the event.
