MITCHELL – Mitchell and Marion Township Volunteer firefighters responded to a house fire at 419 Oak Street at 6:26 p.m. Thursday.
The home is owned by Crews Property. The residents were Jeremy Birchfield and Amanda Dilks and their three children.
Firefighters arrived to find flames and smoke coming from the home. According to Mitchell VFD Assistant Chief Wayne Coble, the home was engulfed in flames and was “a 100 percent loss”.
“We believe the fire is electrical in nature,” added Coble.
The fire rekindled again this morning at 2:56 a.m.
