Malon “Carroll” Sneed, 71, of Mitchell, passed away at 11:18 p.m. on Sunday, February 6, 2022, at his residence.
Born August 17, 1950, in Glasgow, KY, he was the son of Mary Frances Garrett and Malon Arvest Sneed. He married Sandi Neill on June 17, 2009, and she survives. He retired as a factory worker and was a horse trainer, rodeo rider, and enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps serving in Vietnam and a member of the Mitchell V.F.W. He was a member of the Baptist Church in Campbellsburg where he served as a deacon and song leader.
Survivors include his wife, Sandi, of Mitchell; a son, Daryll Sneed, of Pekin, IN; granddaughters, Megan (Kyle) and Shelbi; great-grandchildren, Brylin, Westyn, Walker, Olivia, and Parker; a sister, Terry and a brother, Gilbert.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Jimmy, and two sisters, Brenda and Sherry.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 10th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Martie Spaulding officiating. Burial will follow in the Mitchell Cemetery where military rites will be accorded by members of the Cecil Martin Post #250 American Legion. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service on Thursday at the mortuary.
