MITCHELL – The Greater Mitchell Chamber of Commerce Annual Dinner is scheduled for Thursday, April 7, at the Spring Mill Inn Lakeview Room.
The evening will include a catered meal, special guest speakers, presentations, and annual awards honoring members of the Mitchell community.
Social hour will begin at 6:00 p.m. with the welcome and dinner at 6:30 p.m.
Tickets are $30 and must be purchased in advance. The deadline to purchase tickets is March 18th. The featured guest speaker is Gary Varvel.
Gary Varvel is a Christian, conservative, cartoonist, and speaker in that order. Varvel was The Indianapolis Star cartoonist for 24 years. His work is syndicated through Creators Syndicate.
In 2015 he was inducted into the Indiana Journalism Hall of Fame. Varvel won the National Headliners Award, the Robert F. Kennedy Journalism Award, the National Cartoonists Society Reuben Award for Best Editorial Cartoonist Division, the Grambs Aronson Award, plus dozens of state awards. Varvel wrote and illustrated The Good Shepherd children’s book and co-wrote and produced Christian films: The Board (2009) and The War Within (2014).
