INDIANAPOLIS – Bedford North Lawrence junior Cole Baker finished 14th during the 50-yard freestyle consolation race in the IHSAA state finals on Saturday.
Baker, who was seeded 10th in 21.26 following the preliminary heats, clocked a time of 21.51. West Lafayette’s Matthew Klinge won the state championship with a time of 20.43 in that event.
Top-ranked Carmel won its eighth straight team state title, scoring 381 points. Carmel was victorius in six events.
Marshall Horton of Crawfordsville was named the recipient of the Herman F. Keller Mental Attitude Award.
