STATEHOUSE – State Rep. J. Michael Davisson (R-Salem) recently welcomed Washington County students to the Statehouse where they participated in the Indiana House Page Program.
West Washington Jr/Sr High School student Savannah Bowers and Nicholas Craven, who is a home-educated student from New Pekin, served as pages during the 2022 legislative session.
“Serving as a House page gives young Hoosiers across the state a chance to watch the legislative process and learn about how a bill becomes a law,” Davisson said. “This is a great opportunity, and I encourage students from our community to sign up for next year’s legislative session.”
According to Davisson, Bowers and Craven toured offices of all branches of government in the Statehouse, helped staff with daily responsibilities, and joined Davisson on the House floor to witness the legislative process.
Davisson said students between the ages of 13 and 18 should consider participating during the 2023 session.
