Joy Elaine (Stech) Griffith, 76, of Bedford, Indiana passed away on Thursday, December 23, 2021.
Joy was born on March 16, 1945, to Gerald and Evelyn (Clevenger) Stech, both deceased. She graduated in 1963 from Huntington Township High School in Huntington, Indiana, where she played clarinet in the high school band. She was an active 4-H member who continued to enjoy crafting, sewing and crocheting throughout her life. Joy attended The King’s College of Briarcliff Manor, New York, and tutored students in Harlem.
On Valentine’s Day, 1965, she married Michael Lee Griffith, her high school sweetheart. She was a homemaker who deeply loved her family. Joy was a devoted Christian Believer with a patient and generous heart.
Joy is survived by her husband Mike; their children Todd Griffith of South Whitley, IN; Eric (Michelle) Griffith of Crane, IN; and Jodi (Peter) Petretta of Charles Town, West Virginia. She is also survived by her sister Joan Terrell of Auburn, Alabama, and her brother Glenn Stech of Kimmell, IN.
A celebration of Joy’s life is planned for 2:00 p.m. on March 26, 2022, at her church. Tabernacle of Praise, 1381 U.S. Highway 50 East, Bedford, Indiana.
