When officers arrived a male said Padgett was upstairs. Officers went upstairs and found Padgett and a female exiting his bedroom.

While an officer was handcuffing Padgett they noticed in plain view a clear plastic bag containing crystal meth.

While escorting Padgett to a patrol vehicle the officer allowed him to stop and smoke a cigarette. It was at that time, another officer retreived a small green bag that contained crystal meth lying on the ground by Padgett.

Padgett then granted the officers consent to search his room. In the room, officers found multiple baggies containing crystal meth, a cut plastic straw, new and used syringes, a glass smoking pipe containing marijuana residue and two metal caps with crystal meth residue on them.

Padgett was arrested on the outstanding warrant plus new charges of possession of meth, unlawful possession of a syringe, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
