BEDFORD – A Bedford woman was arrested after Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department deputies were alerted to a fight in the 960 block of Wallner Quarry Road.
The caller reported 32-year-old Sarah Harris was attacking everyone.
When the deputies arrived they found another officer running into a garage to stop a struggle between Harris and a male. The male was holding Harris on the ground until officers arrived. The male told police Harris was “trying to attack everyone”.
Harris was placed in handcuffs and detained in a police vehicle.
Officers then spoke to several people on the scene. All reported Harris was making “random outbursts and talking in tongues”.
They said things escalated with Harris damaging property and laying in a ditch. She then punched a woman in the chest and pushed another. That is when a male physically restrained Harris to prevent her from hurting others and herself.
All those involved declined to file charges.
Police did say Harris had been drinking and blew a 0.224 on a portable breath test.
While being detained in the back of the police car, Harris continued to yell profanities.
Harris was transported to jail on a charge of disorderly conduct.
