BROWN CO. — Construction is scheduled to begin in early April at the State Road135 bridge over Pleasant Valley Creek in Brown County.
On or after Monday, April 4, S.R. 135 will be reduced to one lane with temporary traffic signals during a superstructure replacement project.
The bridge is located approximately 4.64 miles south of S.R. 46 near Van Buren Elementary School. A similar project was completed last year on the bridge to the north, located 4.44 miles south of S.R. 46. The signals are expected to remain at the south bridge through early July.
The $2 million contract was awarded to Milestone Contractors LP in September 2020. INDOT reminds drivers to use extra caution, avoid distractions, and consider worker safety when traveling through active construction zones. All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change.
