LOOGOOTEE – Loogootee swept the singles while conquering Bedford North Lawrence 4-1 during girls high school tennis action on Monday.
The Lions (7-1) dropped only eight games on the three singles courts. Kieragen Napier stopped Rachel Kidd 6-0, 6-2 at No.1, Annalise Powell popped Becca Epping 6-1, 6-2 at No.2, and Grace Gingerich toppled Italy Lewis 6-2, 6-1 at No.3.
Loogootee also won No.1 doubles as Katie Callison and Caitlin Carrico handed Bella Stigall and Mallory Pride a rare setback, posting a 6-1, 4-6, 6-2 win.
BNL’s only victory came at No.2 doubles, with Kenley Craig and Izzy Alldredge going the distance for a 6-3, 4-6, 7-6 (7-3 in the tiebreaker) win over Madison McAtee and Tessa Bradley.
The Stars (2-2) will host Jennings County on Tuesday.
