BEDFORD – Hoosier Hills Insurance Agency LLC, a full-service independent insurance agency owned by Hoosier Hills Credit Union, is growing once again with the acquisition of Orleans-based Busick Insurance Agency LLC. The purchase was completed April 15.
Adding the Busick team to the Hoosier Hills Insurance Agency will expand the number of insurance carriers and agents available to help serve client needs, while allowing current clients to do business with the same agents they have come to know. HHIA’s dedicated team of experts can now bring another pair of nationally recognized carriers, Cincinnati Insurance and Nationwide, to its array of providers, thanks to the Busick acquisition.
A common thread between Busick and HHIA remains intact: agents will always shop multiple company offers to find the best value and rates for clients. Quotes are always free. Also free is an annual review of clients’ policies to see if better options are available. Any additional savings will be passed along to clients.
“We are delighted to bring Busick Insurance into the Hoosier Hills Insurance Agency brand,” said Travis Markley, President and Chief Executive Officer of Hoosier Hills Credit Union, parent of Hoosier Hills Insurance Agency. “Clients will still do business with individuals they know and trust, and will also have all the advantages that come from affiliation with a larger agency. It’s the best of both worlds for both our clients and for our companies.”
Led by Brett Busick since 2012, Busick Insurance was a family-owned agency founded by his father and mother, Bill and Faye Busick. It has provided auto, home, life, farm, and health insurance for personal and business clients in Lawrence and Orange counties since the late 1980s.
A wholly owned subsidiary of Hoosier Hills Credit Union, Hoosier Hills Insurance Agency contracts with carriers that have at least an A (excellent) rating. Other notable insurance companies offered by HHIA include Progressive, Auto-Owners, Western Reserve Group, Safeco, and Celina. Prior to the Busick purchase agreement, the most recent acquisition by HHIA came with the addition of the former Lantis Insurance Agency in Orleans in August 2020.
Hoosier Hills Insurance Agency now has a larger presence in this region for insurance products and continues to offer coverage at highly competitive rates, according to Brandon Stroud, President of HHIA.
“Another reason why this makes so much sense is both companies are locally owned and have always made client needs the highest priority,” Stroud said. “We encourage current clients and anyone who is not currently a client to contact us for a comprehensive policy review or quote at no cost.”
Premium rates will not change, nor will clients move from their current policies unless they request it.
“We’re available to review all policies for existing clients in light of the acquisition. If interested, please call one of our icensed professionals at 812.279.4411 to have your policy reviewed or visit us online at https://hoosierhills.com/insurance-investments/insurance for more information,” Stroud said. Stroud has 17 years of experience in the insurance industry and joined HHIA in 2013.
Brett Busick’s insurance expertise will not be lost, either. He will continue to focus on commercial and life insurance products for HHIA, providing guidance to clients in Orleans and throughout Southern Indiana. All other employees from the Busick Agency will continue to work for Hoosier Hills Insurance as well.
“It brings me great joy knowing that my family’s legacy will now be a part of the Hoosier Hills organization,” said Busick. “I look forward to an exciting future and the opportunity to meet all of our members and new clients.”
