Deborah Loraine Holmes Ransom, 72, of Avoca, passed away at her residence on Saturday, April 23, 2022.
Born on August 31, 1949, she was the daughter of Harvey “Cocky” and Marion (Blackburn) Holmes. She married Kenneth Ransom on August 4, 1967 and he preceded her in death on June 28, 2020. Debby spent her life being a faithful Pastor’s wife. She was a member of Crossroads Community Church and was a graduate of Needmore High School with the class of 1967.
Surviving to cherish Debby’s memory are her children, Barry (Jennifer) Ransom of Bloomington and Missy (Jeff Key) Simpson of Avoca; grandchildren, Lizzie (Griffin) Williams, Gabrielle (Andrew) Carrico, Noah Ransom, Rieken Isom, Ashle’ (Derrick) Stalder, Scotty (Amanda) Simpson and Grant Simpson; great-grandchild, Ava Ruth Williams; her siblings, J.R. (Martha) Holmes of Bloomington, Mike (Jeanie) Holmes of Avoca and Jan (Jim) Kirk of Avoca; along with several nieces and nephews.
Debby was preceded in death by her husband, Pastor Ken Ransom; her parents, Harvey “Cocky” and Marion Holmes; and her great-granddaughter, Ella Grace Simpson.
Funeral services for Deborah Loraine Ransom will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 28, 2022 at the Crossroads Community Church with Pastors Jeff Williams, Gary Thomas and Lyndon Hopkins officiating. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the Crossroads Church.
Contributions in memory of Debby may be made to the Crossroads Community Church Daycare Playground Equipment Fund.
Arrangements for Mrs. Ransom have been entrusted to the Ferguson-Lee Chapel of Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes in Bedford.
