BEDFORD – The Lawrence County Commissioners Tuesday morning voted to pass Ordinance 2022-4 which establishes the alteration of speed limits.
The request to change some of the speed limits on county roads was decided after Interim Highway Superintendent Brandi Webb and Lawrence County Sheriff Mike Branham performed traffic investigations on the roads.
The passing of the ordinance establishes the foregoing speed limits:
- Liberty Church Road shall have a maximum speed limit of 30 miles per hour.
- Old Highway 60 West shall have a maximum speed limit of 35 miles per hour.
- Fleenor Road between State Road 60 and Parks Implement Road shall have a maximum speed limit of 30 miles per hour.
- Fleenor Road south of Parks Implement Road shall have a maximum speed limit of 35 miles per hour.
- Parks Addition Road shall have a maximum speed limit of 35 miles per hour.
- Old Needmore School Road shall have a maximum speed limit of 25 miles per hour.
- Trogdon Lane between Old Needmore School Road and Old State Road 37 shall have a maximum speed limit of 25 miles per hour.
- Trogdon Lane between Old Needmore School Road and North Pike Road will have a maximum speed limit of 35 miles per hour.
- North Pike Road between Trogdon Lane and West Washboard Road shall have a maximum speed limit of 35 miles per hour.
- West Washboard Road between Gas Line Road and State Road 37 shall have a maximum speed limit of 35 miles per hour.
The speed limits are effective at the time of passage of the ordinance.
