BEDFORD – There will be training for the Lawrence County and Orange County Crisis Intervention Teams (CIT) from Monday, May 16th through Friday, May 20th to focus on bridging the gap between police response and mental health care as the basis for safer resolution of crises.
The training will take place at St. Vincent Dunn Hospital at 1600 23rd Street in Bedford and will focus on building strong relationships between local law enforcement and mental health agencies to combat potential issues.
As part of this effort, they are providing training and education to law enforcement officers to assist them in managing crisis events when they, as first responders, encounter individuals who are experiencing behavioral health crises due to mental illness and/or co‐occurring substance use disorders.
