Evelyn F. Sipes, 90, of Shoals, passed away at her residence at 11:39 p.m. Sunday, May 8, 2022.
She was born April 24, 1932, in Lawrence County, Indiana to Lovell and Eva (Lewis) Sanders. She married Cecil Sipes on December 31, 1948, and he preceded her in death on November 8, 2009.
She was employed by Perfect Fit in Loogootee for several years and was of the Protestant Faith. Evelyn loved quilting, hunting, and fishing with Cecil, working in the garden, and spending time with her family.
Survivors include two daughters Brenda Lucas of Shoals and Alusha Sipes of Shoals; two sons, Harold L. (Debbie) Sipes and Rodney (Ann) Sipes both of Shoals; five grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one sister, Christina Peterson, and a son-in-law, John Lucas.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday at Spring Hill Cemetery in Shoals with Denise Newland officiating.
The Queen-Lee Chapel of the Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes has been entrusted with the arrangements.
