MITCHELL – Mitchell Community Schools Superintendent Dr. Brent Comer, requested the approval of the formation of two clubs to benefit students moving forward, including a National Honor Society and a Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) group.
An honor society helps students meet others with similar goals in academic achievement and may even motivate them to stay focused and work harder throughout high school, college, and beyond by elevating a school’s commitment to the values of scholarship, service, leadership, and character.
HOSA offers future Health Professionals the opportunity to become leaders in the global health community, through education, collaboration, and experience. HOSA actively promotes career opportunities in the health industry and enhances the delivery of quality health care to all people.
“These two groups offer a lot of opportunities for our students, and having it here in Mitchell Community Schools will only increase interest in our schools,” said Dr. Comer. “I am excited for our students to have an opportunity like this.”
