Indiana Chamber to host FMLA Seminar with latest updates

INDIANAPOLIS — Indiana HR professionals seeking a refresher or introduction on Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) issues have an upcoming educational opportunity from the Indiana Chamber of Commerce.

The annual FMLA Seminar, with guidance presented by the Ogletree Deakins law firm, will take place on June 22 at the Indiana Chamber Conference Center in downtown Indianapolis. There is also a virtual attendance option with the same level of information and instruction.

FMLA applies to companies with 50 or more employees and all schools and public agencies.

Event attendees will hear real-life scenarios and receive a complete overview of FMLA. Among the topics to be covered: eligibility, types of leave, qualifying conditions, and job protection, as well as looking at the policies and forms needed.

Return-to-work matters, recurring tricky issues, legal claims, curbing FMLA abuse, and the latest regarding COVID-19 are also on the agenda.

“This is one of our most important business and HR offerings of the year and is a great resource for employers to stay up to date and to protect themselves,” says Kerri Begley, Indiana Chamber vice president of business education and events. “Ogletree Deakins’ attorneys specializing in FMLA will lead the training and share insights that can enhance attendees’ FMLA efforts.”

The cost for the conference is $449 for Indiana Chamber members or $549 for non-members. Register at www.indianachamber.com/conferences.
