INDIANA – Governor Eric J. Holcomb is directing flags statewide to be flown at half-staff on Memorial Day.
Flags should be flown at half-staff from sunrise to noon on Monday, May 30.
Governor Holcomb also asks businesses and residents across the state to lower their flags to half-staff on Monday to commemorate Memorial Day.
Memorial Day commemorates the men and women who died while in the military service for their country, particularly those who died in battle or as a result of wounds sustained in battle. In other words, the purpose of Memorial Day is to memorialize the veterans who made the ultimate sacrifice for their country.
