MITCHELL – An Indianapolis man was arrested Saturday night after a Mitchell Police officer requested Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department deputies to assist in locating 32-year-old Karl Davidson.
Davidson was believed to be traveling north out of Mitchell and was wanted for questioning in a theft investigation.
At approximately, 9:10 p.m. a deputy was traveling south on State Road 37 and noticed Davidson walking north on State Road 37, north of Stevens Lane.
The officer turned around and stopped Davidson. Davidson refused to let the deputy search his person or his backpack.
The deputy transported Davidson to the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department and Mitchell Police officers were alerted.
Once the Mitchell Police officer arrived Davidson allowed the officer to search his person and backpack. Inside officers found a scale that tested positive for meth.
Davidson was then arrested on a charge of possession of meth.
