INDIANAPOLIS – Attorney General Todd Rokita reacts to the passage of the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act.
“Thursday night, the US Senate put a band-aid on the problem of violence in schools when what we really need is a tourniquet. As a parent, I don’t feel my kids are safer at school because there is now funding for them to sit around in a circle and talk about their feelings. Instead, let’s utilize the technology and practical solutions we rely upon to keep us safe in other parts of our lives to keep kids safe at school, like making the buildings more secure and investing in law enforcement assistance. Yet the money allocated for this is only a scintilla of the overall proposed spend.
Let’s face it, the root cause of this problem is that we have taken God out of schools and embraced the deterioration of the family. Meanwhile, big tech is destroying the mental health of our children. We must protect and defend our families at any cost. I will stand strong in my fight for the preservation of Hoosier families.
