MITCHELL – In partnership with Lost River Market & Deli and IU Center for Rural Engagement, Purdue Extension-Lawrence County will offer a monthly Meal Kit Program during the months of July, August, and September.
This program gets young people in the kitchen and provides experience preparing home-cooked meals, trying new foods, encouraging family time, developing communication skills, and having fun!
Meal kits will be distributed at the Mitchell Community Park beginning at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesdays from July 19 – September 6.
Boxes will contain the ingredients and recipes for four different dishes (enough servings for a family of four)- entrée, two sides, and a dessert. Families are encouraged to take their boxes home, explore them together, and create their dishes. Boxes will also contain other educational materials, a kitchen tool to use with the recipe, and family challenges.
For families that complete all three months, there will be additional incentives provided. You do not have to be a cooking expert to sign up. The recipes and materials will show you each step from start to finish.
Registrations are being accepted through July 15 or until all 20 openings are filled. Sign up at this link https://forms.gle/tFFNtNQ2Y2ux9RSx6
