BEDFORD – The North Lawrence Community School Board announced the hiring of Assistant Superintendent Chris Tanner during a public meeting.
NLCS Superintendent Dr. Ty Mungle is excited to have Chris join the NLCS family and knows that he will help the corporation and community grow.
“I am pleased to announce that Chris Tanner, Ed.S., has accepted a position at North Lawrence School Corporation as Assistant Superintendent,” Mungle said. “Chris is happy to be a part of the NLCS team and community and excited to help the corporation grow.”
With over 25 years of experience as an administrator, Chris has served as the Assistant Superintendent in South Dearborn Community Schools for the last four years. He received his Ed.S. from Indiana State University, his education administration degree from Oakland City University, and his undergraduate degree from Franklin College.
The primary role for Chris will be directing Human Resources and hiring new personnel, overseeing transportation and maintenance, and collaborating with the business office and curriculum department. Interestingly, he held similar roles in South Dearborn.
When not working, Chris enjoys spending time with his family; his wife, Deborah, is a third grade teacher at Edgewood Intermediate with 25 years teaching experience; his son, Brayden, will be a Biomedicine Sophomore at IU this fall, and his youngest son, Braxton, will be a sophomore at Edgewood HS.
Chris also loves spending time with his two dogs, reading, and athletic events, specifically watching Franklin College basketball games as he played basketball while earning his undergraduate degree. Chris is excited and honored to be selected to work at North Lawrence Community Schools in beautiful Lawrence County.
