INDIANAPOLIS – Intersection improvements are planned at the north junction of Thompson Road and Mann Road, near the bridge being replaced over I-465. The work is scheduled to close the entire intersection and the eastbound I-465 on-ramp for a long weekend starting after 9 p.m. on Thursday, July 14th.
The detour for the Mann Road bridge replacement over I-465 follows Thompson Road, Kentucky Avenue and Mann Road.
Alternate access to I-465 eastbound is from the S.R. 67/Kentucky Avenue on-ramp. Residential access to Thompson Road east of Mann Road is from the south.
The intersection and the I-465 eastbound on-ramp are expected to reopen before the Monday morning commute.
Madison Avenue overpass
The brand-new Madison Avenue bridge over I-465 and Lick Creek is expected to open ahead of schedule later this week. The bridge closed in February for replacement and will allow for additional lanes of I-465 to cross underneath in the future.
The Carson Avenue overpass near I-65 is expected to close for a similar replacement project in late July. The detour will follow Keystone Avenue and Thompson Road.
