Bedford woman sentenced to prison after pleading guilty to possession of meth

BEDFORD – Lawrence Superior Court II Judge Bob Cline sentenced a Bedford woman to the Indiana Department of Correction Thursday afternoon.

Brandy Mize

Brandy Mize, 42, pleaded guilty to possession of methamphetamine, a Level 4 felony, as a part of a negotiated plea agreement with the State of Indiana, negotiated by the Lawrence County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Deputy Prosecutor Jeremy Weddle.

As a part of the plea, Mize will serve a sentence of six years in prison, with five of those executed in the DOC. The one year suspended will be served on probation once the executed portion is complete.

Deputy Prosecutor Jeremy Weddle

“Methamphetamine is a scourge on our community. Through good police work and our commitment to tirelessly prosecute drug cases, like this one, we can make Lawrence County safer,” said Deputy Prosecutor Jeremy Weddle. “Drugs are off the street, and the offender is sent to the DOC where hopefully she can find rehabilitation for her substance abuse.”
