INDIANA – Did you know that one-third of all women/families have struggled to purchase menstrual products
during the pandemic?
Pace – Health Connection will be hosting a tampon drive throughout the month of August in Daviess, Knox, Lawrence, Sullivan, and Vigo Counties. Donations of tampons, pads, menstrual cups, and sanitary wipes will be accepted. Each clinic will be donating to participating local schools.
More than 4 in 5 students in the U.S. have either missed class time or know someone who has missed class time because they did not have access to period products. Menstrual products are expensive, and many students can’t afford to have as many as they need or any at all. Health Connection wishes to address this issue within our community by collecting donated products and partnering with organizations in the area to get these products to the students who need them.
Debbie Ramsey, Health Connection Nurse Practitioner stated, “Having access to personal protection products for menstrual control is vital for all school-aged females. This year Health Connection’s Pad and Tampon Drive will benefit students at the local schools. We hope to provide students with easy access to these personal hygiene products.”
This is the second tampon drive Health Connection has hosted. Thanks to the efforts of the community, last year’s donations between all five of our clinics added to a total of 20,000 pads and tampons.
Drop-off boxes will be available at all clinics as well as locations to be announced.
