Morrell R. Tucker, 90, of Bedford, died Monday, July 25th at the IU Hospice House.
Born September 20, 1931, in Lawrence County, he was the son of Richard Tucker and Gladys Charles Tucker. He married Ella Mae (Cline) on August 31, 1990, and she preceded him in death on July 28, 2019. He was a firefighter, retiring from the Bedford Fire Department. More than anything, Morrell and Ella Mae enjoyed fishing together, playing cards, going to the casino, and Cooper, their dog. Morrell thoroughly enjoyed sitting and talking with family and friends about the good ole days.
Survivors include his daughter, Karen Starr, of Bedford; grandchildren, Jason Beretta and wife Robin, Mike Starr, Clint Stickles and wife Chanel, Logan Stickles; great-grandchildren, Gage Beretta, Claire Beretta, Brooklynn Stickles, and Beau Badger; step-grandchildren, Sherlyn Moore, Timothy May, and Warren May.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a daughter, Phyllis Stickles; stepchildren, Patti Sue May and Harold Edwin Mitchell.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 29th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Bro. Millard Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Cloverhill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service on Friday at the mortuary.
