BEDFORD – During the Bedford Board of Works and Safety meeting Monday afternoon, Bedford Police Chief Terry Moore informed the board that Captain Timothy Chen has been placed on administrative leave.
Chen was placed on administrative leave on August 9, 2022, and has been an officer for the Bedford Police Department for 17 years according to Chief Moore.
The first part of the process of a suspension is to notify the Bedford Board of Works. An investigation is now underway with a third-party attorney which is standard practice in these matters.
Once the investigation is complete Bedford Police Chief Moore will come back to the Board of Works with a recommendation. There is no timetable on the length of the suspension, and details of the reason why Captain Chen has been suspended have not been released at this time.
