INDIANA – Stay alert for the new Artesian Avenue traffic signal at Southview Drive and Commercial Boulevard in Morgan County. Another new signal will be activated in the coming weeks at Ohio Street and Ruth Rusie Way.

The Morgan County monument at the Henderson Ford Road interchange will be “cast in stone” this week as crews begin installing decorative stones. Paving crews expect to apply the final layer of pavement on entrance and exit ramps over the next few weeks.
Expect Southport Road to be restricted to one through lane in each direction starting tonight at the Harding Street intersection east of State Road 37. Crews are connecting the future Southport Road alignment for the I-69 interchange.
Banta Road has reopened east of S.R. 37 following gas line work and Edgewood Avenue has closed.
The long-term closure of Epler Avenue and Belmont Avenue west of S.R. 37 is expected to begin in mid-September and continue through the end of the year. The detour for local traffic will follow Concord Street, Banta Road, and Harding Street.
Nightly lane closures on I-465 are ongoing for median barrier wall removal and bridgework near Mann Road and Carson Avenue.
Northbound S.R. 37 traffic was shifted last week onto new pavement north of S.R. 144. Expect southbound traffic to be shifted late this week. Read the previous On Track newsletter for more about the four traffic switches occurring in the coming weeks.
Slow down and expect southbound S.R. 37 traffic delays on Thursday. One lane will be closed to adjust striping and temporary barriers for the traffic shift.
S.R. 144 traffic is expected to shift onto the new bridge over the future I-69 in mid-September. S.R. 37 traffic turning right onto S.R. 144 will not have dedicated turn lanes at the signal after this week, but the turning movement will remain open.
The actual starting date and duration for work and any closures may be adjusted if inclement weather or other unforeseen activities occur.
