BEDFORD – The eagle landed for Bedford North Lawrence’s Chloe McFaddin.
Hitting a perfect approach shot on the first hole, McFaddin carded an eagle on the opening par-4 at Otis Park, the highlight of her even-par 37 tour while powering the No.17 Stars to a 176-203 victory over Seymour on Tuesday.
McFaddin started the hole with a tee shot to 50 yards, then hit a solid 56-degree wedge that settled into the bottom of the cup. She added another birdie on the par-5 fifth hole to offset three bogeys.
”I was feeling pretty confident over the ball because that’s mainly what I work on during practice,” McFaddin said. “It felt great off the face, and the next thing I know it was in the hole. I wasn’t expecting it at all.”
The rest of BNL’s lineup scuffled on the front nine. Ellie Horton and Kenley Craig posted 46s, while Kinleigh Root and Nora Howat capped the scoring with 47s.
“Chloe played well again tonight,” BNL coach Kori Johnston said. “The rest of our top five struggled some. It was a little mix of everything and we just couldn’t get the ball in the hole fast enough. Our second team (203) played well though and we saw a couple of personal bests out of them.”
The Stars will host Brownstown on Sept. 8.
