MITCHELL – Do you have what it takes to be crowned this year’s WQRK Southern Indiana‘s Classic Hits & Litefm Persimmon Idol?
The entry deadline is Tuesday, September 6th at 4 p.m.
WQRK Southern Indiana‘s Classic Hits & Litefm Persimmon Idol is set to showcase singing talent from the local listening area. The winner of WQRK Southern Indiana‘s Classic Hits & Litefm Persimmon Idol will take home a grand prize package.
This year’s contest will feature two age divisions that includes the youth division for ages 10-17 and the adult division for ages 18 and up.
Contestants will be required to sing during the auditions in order to qualify to perform on Mitchell’s Main Street Stage on Monday, September 19th at 7:30 p.m. at the finals.
Chosen finalists will perform on the Main Street Stage on Main Street in Mitchell on Monday, September 19th at 7:30 p.m.
Preliminary Round – Thursday, September 8th from 5-7 p.m.

Preliminary Round Times
Preliminary round auditions will take place on Thursday, September 8th from 5-7 pm at MHS Auditorium.
Preliminary Round Information
During the preliminary, each contestant will perform their song in front of judges. Auditions have a closed-door policy; no friends or family members will be allowed into the audition room. Those contestants chosen to perform on the Main Street Stage will then be contacted by Wednesday, September 14th.

Main Street Stage Performances – Monday, September 19 at 7:30 pm
Contestants chosen to move on to the Main Street stage will perform at 7:30 pm on Monday, September 19th. All are welcome to cheer on their favorite performers. WQRK Southern‘s Indiana Classic Hits & Litefm Persimmon Idol is FREE for the public to attend.

- Litefm Persimmon Idol trophy
- $500 cash prize (adult division)
