OAKLAND CITY – Oakland City University President Dr. Ron Dempsey has announced to the OCU community an expansion and redirection of his leadership team.
In his book Good to Great, Dr. Dempsey stated, “Jim Collins suggests that to be a great organization, one must get the right people on the bus and then get those people in the right seats. Over the past three years, we have been getting the right people on the bus. However, to successfully implement our vision, we must now ensure the right people are in the right seats. Getting the right people in the right seats means utilizing people’s abilities and passions in the most effective and impactful way.”
Dr. Dempsey announced that Brian Baker, Vice President of Advancement and Admissions, will now focus strictly on Admissions. Brian began his career at OCU in Admissions. Although successful in Advancement, this move allows Mr. Baker to return to his passion for admissions with full enthusiasm.
Jennifer Lantrip has been promoted from Associate Director of Recruitment to Director of Undergraduate Admissions, focusing on the OCU main campus admissions program.
B. Todd Mosby is promoted from Sr. Director of Development to Associate Vice President of Development, Marketing, and Communications. In addition, Mosby will oversee donor relations and the OCU Alumni affairs.
Dr. Dempsey consolidated all federal compliance duties, Veterans Affairs, and Financial Aid under the direction of Dr. JC Campbell, Associate Vice President for Diversity and Compliance.
Dr. Dempsey concluded, “The changes are an effort to get the right people in the positions needed to have an effective and efficient organization as we continue to grow the university.”
